Curriculum
Designed to explore and develop the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum — indoors and out.
Our daily activities are designed to explore and develop the EYFS curriculum across seven areas:
Children are encouraged to be independent, to love learning and to explore through a range of self-chosen activities, adult-directed sessions and individual or small-group learning. They play in imaginative role-play areas and read or listen to recorded stories in the Book Corner and Listening Stations.
There are additional opportunities for exploration, investigation and discovery through sand and water, construction toys, puzzles, interactive touch screens, computers and programmable toys.
In addition to gaining language, mathematical, scientific and technological skills, the children are encouraged to develop enquiring minds — to question, reason, critique, negotiate, problem-solve and make decisions.
The Strawberry Year
Each term is approximately eleven weeks long with a break for half term.
Daily Routine
Full-day children bring a packed lunch. Milk or water is provided mid-morning and mid-afternoon, along with fresh fruit and vegetables prepared by the staff.
Clubs
We run a number of clubs within school hours to extend the children's understanding of themselves, their culture and the world outside:
Records
The staff keep detailed records of children's development. We document the journey of each child's development through online journals celebrating their learning, creativity and individuality. Each term there are parent consultations to discuss each child's progress.
Next Schools
Schools our children have gone on to include the following. Maureen Turner is always delighted to discuss plans for each child's later schooling and to offer help and advice.
